The St. Stephen College Preparatory Male Choir (SCPMC) seeks to help instill Christian character and values in middle school – high school age males, age 12-17, to preapre them for high school graduation, matriculation in college/university or professional skill/trade institutions towards graduation; to become productive men in both society nd the local church; and to ultimately bring glory to God throughout their lives.
Goals & Objectives:
To use music and an age appropiate curriculum to teach core values such as: disciple, strong work ethic, performance and excellence.
To learn choral music of various generes, such as Classicial, Jazz, Spirituals, Gospel, and more for understanding and performance.
To sing at worship services and perform at annual concert.
To stress academnic excellence through providing access to male mentors and tutors to help insure pareticipants are excelling in studies.
To encourage character excellenece through reading, group lecutures and discussion and structured events.
To inspire students to pursue post-secondary education by visiting colleges across the state and region.
To create a culture where excellence in peer groups are reinforced.
To collavorate with the church’s men’s ministry & youth ministry for support.
